Wow, it has been a long time that I never update my blog. Due to there isn't much event about the shogi and also my chess club activity. But today is my chess club first weekly activity in this semester, anyway I attend the chess club activity. However the number of peoples are quite less, I play some GO with a friend. Currently I am also learning GO, as GO is my second training chess that I still a beginner. Besides that, now I also got helping translation of the shogi video that belong to HIDETCHI san, you can view the shogi video that made by HIDETCHI to improve your shogi skill. Other than that, this semester I take 3 subjects and maybe I will be a little busy. That I will not take much attention on the shogi stuff.
That's all for today then.

In the whole event, there are only 8 Malaysian people. That is Ryou Takehito and his friend, Mr. Yeoh and his family, me and my friend.

Mr. Kenji Kobayashi play with 16 peoples in a row and all the game is finish in one hour, he only lose to 4 of them, and all the game is handicap game. He handicap 6 pieces to all children and about 2 pieces to all adult. I lose to him unfortunately, his combination of all pieces is perfect, it will be unable to win him if you are not going on for an defensive castle. I tell my friend to go for a defensive castle, then he able to stablise his king and Mr. K K resign. He is still an amazing professional player.

How old is Mr. K K in the picture? He is 52 years old. He look so young lol.

The only thing i quite regret is i forget to get the signature from him, lol.

After this event, I will start to train hard on my shogi skill, to be able to go into the world of professional shogi world.

It seems like the shogi beginner class today is just a little success. Actually is just only about 8 peoples is playing the shogi. So far is just only strengthen their playing skill, unfortunately the announcement is quite late to reach the members. Whatever, today I introduce some of the people the smallest shogi, that only 3x4 squares. This is just an easier version of shogi for the peoples to play.

Anyway, I decided to plan a beginner and intermediate class for shogi in the next coming Monday. Just hope that the announcement will be launched during Friday, so that everyone will know about it. Today quite a lot of peoples playing reversi and dam during the weekly activity.

I got a small set of shogi myself, it cost about RM30++. This is the most creative and best small chess set I had ever seen. It can let you to save the game, you can keep the unfinished game and play next time.

Monday weekly chess club activity again~

My favorite day as can attend to the chess club's activity. ^_^
Chess club weekly activity is just simple gathering. Members can come and play any kind of chess with each other to increase the relationship and playing skills. That is the only time I can promote the shogi every week. So far that night, I teach about 6 peoples on how to play the shogi. A big step on my promoting shogi plan. I will plan a shogi lesson on the next Monday, in order to maintain the attendance of the members at the same time popularize the shogi among them. Some of peoples are just say they don't know how to play and straight away pickup the chess or Chinese chess to play.

Some time I just think that, the chess is quite hard to be promoted, due to the new generation of people is lazy to think. My generation is due to the influence of our grandfather or uncle that they are good at playing chess. So, we continue the hobby of our grandfather or uncle on the thinking of strategy chess. Chess is a very nice hobby, it train your brain to twist for the strategy. As you think a lot, the brain will working a lot so that the brain won't be lazy and become stupid.

Shogi need to think triple times for your every moves. Everything is possible in shogi. Even you exchange a major piece for a minor piece. It doesn't mean that you are losing, but is determine depend on who can checkmate the opponent's king first due to the 'drop' rules. So, shogi is the most exciting and challenging chess in the world so far. That's why I love shogi. ^_^

Shogi for the chess club

After a discussion with the president of the chess club, the president plan that buy 5 sets of the shogi set for the club. So at the end the parcel arrive during 8 July, there are totally 6 sets of them. One of them is bought by my friend, as he requested before.

But unfortunately, I never thinking of investment on the small shogi. Since I want to promote the shogi, I should also thinking of those peoples that interest in buying the shogi. The big set of shogi costs about RM105 each. I don't think that the people got the money or the passion to buy that. So it will be better if I try to buy the small shogi set and resell to the others.

First, I able to earn some profit for the chess club. Secondly, I indirectly promote the shogi in a faster way as when those people also promote the shogi to their other friends. Thirdly, if their friends is interest in the shogi, they will be interest to join the club, and also wish to buy the shogi set too. I never thought of that during the buying of the 6 big shogi set. However, I will try to request from the president of the chess club to try on the investment of the small shogi set.

Bought new shogi set, a big and a small one

During the first day of this trimester, I get the parcel directly from the Japan through the EMS delivery service. As I review the stuff, the shogi set is much more nicer than I thought.

The big shogi set is Hanayama Honkaku Shogi Set. The whole shogi set is totally made of plastics. The advantage of this shogi set is you no need to worry about the quality, the pieces is made of plastics as it wont be easily crush. Compare to those wood made board and pieces, the plastics is much better as it can last for almost your entire life. There are 2 drawers beside the board to serve as the "Koma-dai" where you can put your captured pieces inside, and also you can keep all the pieces inside the drawers and it is ready to be carry on.

And the small one is Tomy Pocketmate Shogi Set. The small shogi set is able to 'save' the game, you can keep the unfinished game and bring it to everywhere. This is the best small shogi set I ever see. Unfortunately the shogi set is not magnetic, so you need to be careful when you going to take a move on the game to prevent it drop off the board.

Is very happy during the day received the parcel. ^_^

First time to create the blog...

Finally, I create my own blog. After 3 years of university life, doesn't seen much change to me. I will try to make sure my life will be more meaningful during the final year of staying in the university. During the last semester, I got the treasurer position in the chess club of my university for my final year. That will be the best thing to be happen in my university's life, and I hope that there will be more excited thing to be happen in the following year.

Well, what I am suppose to do during this final year? I had planned that I want to promote the shogi chess in my university. The way to promote is to open shogi tutorial class, and also open a friendly match for the peoples. This might appear to be very hard to achieve. Since shogi is totally unpopular in Malaysia, or I shall say not even a normal people know about shogi in Malaysia. But I will try my best to promote the shogi in my university, or is better that if I able to promote to the whole Malaysia. So far I google through the search engine, Malaysia doesn't show much result of shogi, not even a club, an association, or any tournament. But shogi is now famous through the world, even a lot of tournament had been held in the following countries that is France, United States, Japan and even in China.
